Unimog

I met a guy in Baja a couple of years ago who related an account to me. There's a remote surfing spot on the Baja coast where the guys have their buddy with the Unimog drag their fullsize trucks with cabovers into. These are diesel equipped trucks with big tires etc. With the cabovers,they just can't make it through the miles of soft sand it takes to access this spot. Unimog to the rescue.

A friend of mine here in Moab runs Coyote Land Tours and he has a couple of Unimogs built for offroad tours. If you are in town and want an offroad tour I would take his over the hummer tour. Strap yourself in and have fun.



Yes, they are good water rescue vehicles, but he got caught in a flood helping out the local search and rescue last year. He didn't get unstuck before the water got too high. He went back the next day and had a Unimog full of sand. :{ It is amazing the places that will fill with sand under those conditions. It is on the road now.
