Driving in this morning after a couple inches of snow, a Lexus found itself not being able to stop coming down the hill onto the main road. I dodged her the best I could. No body damage for me. It hit at an angle on the rear passenger wheel. A piece of her front bumper wedged itself between my wheel and the tire causing it to run flat by the time I got to work. The tire shop is checking that part of it out now, whether the wheel is bent or not. It did crush the hub cap though.

She was doing maybe 15mph and I was going about 30. After I get that fixed I'll have to make a day appt with the dealer or a body shop to check the frame. I don't think anything else got hurt. I'm glad there was some snow/ice on the road cause I slid right around, a slow 180. I drove it another 10 miles to work and didn't feel and weird vibrations. Of course it would have been hard to tell with a half inflated tire and snow covered roads.

Anything else I can check?

That ES300 of hers came apart pretty good though :D

You were fortunate that you were on snow which allowed the impact force to be shed by letting the truck slide out of the way some-what.

At least you were not injured and the damage is/was minimal.

I would suggest you carefully examine the rear axle and how it is centered under the truck.

Did the impact force the axle to shift to the drivers side possibly bending the spring-eyes or spring mounts? (you may notice the drivers side wheel protruding further out of the wheel well)

You should also check the passenger side spring pack to see if the center bolt is sheared alowing the wheel/axle to shift back slightly, causing the truck to "dog walk" when driven down the road.

Hopefully it's all good, good luck with it :),

Get the alignment checked out... they can do a 4 wheel check and that will let you know if the axle has shiifted.

Her insurance will cover the cost.

Wheel checked out fine. . no dents or chips. The bumper plastic wedged in perfectly to break the bead with no tire damage either. Already made my dealer appt for Friday to get everything checked and an alignment. I did notice the lower rear wheel well liner is cracked from the mud guard getting hit. So I only lost the center hub cap and some air from my tire. Could have been much worse
