Had lately took the stock muffler off and had a 40 series Flowmaster muffler put on. Lost boost. Went from 28 lbs. to 22 lbs. I also lost a lot of power in pulling. It made this truck into a dog. I had the Flowmaster taken off and a straight pipe up in and now I'm back up to 28 lbs. of boost. Sorry guys but I'm getting old and I don't like'm loud. Going to put a muffler on this truck

Talked with Dan at Flowmaster and found out that the muffler shop had put on the wrong muffler.

So if you have a Flowmaster muffler put on make sure it is a straight thru design not a off set design muffler. Flowmaster recommends the #953540-10.

Murle,

Was that 40 Series you had on "a short flatter square" muffler??

Let me know when you get that new muffler on.

Sky, That was the one that I took off. Short flat and was not a straight thru. Inlet was higher than the outlet.
