I have an 05 with 7200 miles. I put a predator box on in jan. and all has been good. Today the temp got up to 81-83 deg. and I get in the truck after work and get on the interstate and it starts to miss at like 2500 rpm!?! Turn of the box and it seems to be ok. Turn it on tow and its not as bad as on performance. Could the temps have that much of an affect on it ? This is the first day that it has been this warm. Air filter is a little dirty but the gauge is still ok. Fuel filter unknown havent changed it yet. Just wondering if the LP is going out. Any help where to start would be great!

Wow that fast for a relief valve to go bad.

I still have my original and thats 2 years of hard use.

Oo. yes, i have seen first hand trucks off the lot with bad relief valves---it was just a suggestion :-laf

Ditto on the fuel filter. Its a simple item to start with and if it does'nt fix it, you'll know its clean least.

If the fuel filter does not solve your issue, I would definitley take a look at your lift pump before you go to the expense of a relief valve.

Do you have decent power up to the point it starts missing?

Oo. accually the relieve valve is the cheaper one($100-400), but you should get them all looked at before you buy a new one--- i have had several threads on how to check your reliefe valve, do a search, also you may want to invest in a fuel pressure guage as well---as it could save you money down the road in diognosis. yes allways check the fuel filter first, when expirencing a power problem, its amazing what dirty diesel fuel can do to a common rail vehicle.

OK changed the filter it was BLACK!! Normal for 7200 miles? Did not fix the problem :{ So now I guess its on the the RV ( next cheapest fix... LOL) and power wise it sux... . like stock no smoke or anything but I think the mileage is going down.

Oo. if any body else is interested i have access to new relief valves for better than dealership pricing. pm or call for info thanks Oo.
