wvo

Hello StephenJohnson

Its not a problem running WVO if you really want to burn WVO in any diesel. the tricky part is not letting some one tell you that it will not work.

Heating the oil for fuel is only one way of doing it, blending the oil is another then making Bio Diesel is another way. They all work some better than others but again they work, as far as injector wear thats some thing that might happen but it dependes on a lot of other things. lift pumps are the biggest problem that I have had its an ongoing thing the 04 I run is on its 3rd pump its not a big deal but its a problem. the 05 my wife has is stock but I think its about ready to give up. why ? I think its the thickness of the fuel. this is why I am heating the tank in my 04 if this works then the 05 gets it also.

The Diesel repair shop that I use has had 0 problems with people running vegoil in there diesel Engines. This sounds great right, but ask them about whos running WVO and they will give you a few names, yes one is mine. but ask them about the Ulsd fuel (cleaner) and they will give you a whole list of people that are having problems why 99. 99 % run diesel.

There are web sites that will tell you it wont work then there are ones telling you it will.

This site is one of the best I have seen for product running WVO in CTD CR. Engine

http://www.roverhybrids.com/

as far as running blend I have a post on what I have done.

dse in truck 04-05 CTD

also there are other blends out there to try

Schur Ecofuel is another post to look at.

this is a small amount of info but remember only you will be able to make up your mind about this. its your truck, its your money, its your time.

if you would like to talk about this in more detail you can email me if you want at

cj,

Between the two rigs, how many miles do you have on WVO thus far? I think that speaks volumes to those thinking about moving forward.

Mine is coming up on 25,000 miles, 80% of which have been on WVO blend to one degree or another. In that time, I've replaced the lift pump once.

Even in the 15-19 degree weather, it's running great at about 50% blend (balance #2) - even on starts without the block heater.

FYI - Mark
