X-Monitor install question

Santa got me an x-monitor and I'm sure this is a dumb rookie question but- What size drill and tap do I need to get for the pyro? I have decided after reading a zillion posts to install it pre-turbo so I won't be using the bushing provided in the kit.

Also, the probe extends 1 5/8" from the threads. Is there any danger it bottoming out on the other side of manifold? Drilling into expensive parts always makes me nervous and any advice will be much appreciated.

More than likely it is 1/4x18 npt. Drill hole size to 7/16. Drill manifold on the front half section.
