It's really a function of how easy you can read the smaller digital numbers as you drive, I'mm getting long in the tooth and can't see them as well as I once did. Plus analog gauges once you have them you don't really read them unless you have a problem. You get used to seeing them without actually seeing them as you drive, you know the pyro is in the safe range and never really verify that it's at 967. 5 degrees etc.
