Better late than never  I said I would post pics of my install about three weeks ago. I put the pics in my Readers rig gallery. Enjoy!

Not having bought one yet! How do you sense trans temp. Is there a factory TC or will I have to mount one in-line again?

The X-Monitor taps into a wire at the PCM.

Dodge in their infinite wisdom has an idiot light to inform you that your trans is too hot. The sensor for the light gives the proper signal for a guage, so the X is accurate.

It's a shame that Dodge doesn't put a guage for trans temp from the factory.

How difficult would you rate the install? Was the pyro the "hold your breath" part? What about taking the x-monitor off. Will the A-pilar have a bunch of holes in it if I decide to buy an 2005?

thx

I worried too much, it's not that bad of an install. Yes the pyro was the most stressful. Looking back it's funny how worked up I got.

You will have four holes in your A pillar (1/8"?), nothing you can do about that.

Make sure you have plenty of time. I painted the holder one night and then did a little each night after work. I started on a Thurs. and finished up by drilling and tapping the pyro Sat. morning.

Drilling and Tapping took me 1. 5 hrs and thats being very careful. I used no grease on the bits when drilling I started with a small bit and went up till I got to the 7/16". I think this helps keep the shaving size to a minimum (safer for the turbo). With the tap I used a strong magnet that was stuck to the tap and I would go in till the shavings were stacking up then back out and remove the magnet and drop the shavings in the trash. Then test fit the pyro till it fit correctly.

I'm in a hurry writing this, hope it helps ya!

RR:

Where did you get the paint for the mount? Are you happy with the paint or do you think it will scratch or flake off in the future? Also did you use any anit-seage compound on the pyro sensor?

I've been looking at this same setup.
