I just found out there are now Xenon HID lights available for 2015 Ram 3500 trucks.

Anyone done one this mod?

I just bought PIAA #9006 White LED Fog Lights and bought PIAA HB3 (9005) Extreme White bulbs for the brights.

I haven't installed them yet as I want to do both driving and bright headlights at the same time. Wondered if I should get the Xenon for brights as well.

I was conisdering them for my '06 but after my kid had a set of HID's, and all the headaches with them, I went to LED's and haven't had an issue or the cost my kids went through. Are you sure you want to do this ? I've read several forums of this and there are all kinds of complaints about the HID's. Mmany said they are awesome when they work right, but a headache and costly in parts over a long run. I would suggest taking more time to consider this before the investment money goes out.

The problem with previous Xenon bulb upgrade attempts in the 2015 Ram is the onboard computer read them as an problem and caused "flickering" or full intermittent operation.
new technology has been introduced and now requires a Can Bus Kit. Here is a link to one such company that feels they have mastered the problem.

I also considered LED's. here is one such model I'm considering by Brightsource.

So, what is the problem you are trying to address? After turning on fog lights all the time as a filler, I do not have a lighting issue. SNOKING

I'm a glutton for brighter lights. Always have been. That's just me.
The lights in these trucks really suck in the rain too!

My wife's KIA had Xenon headlights that blow away my truck lights. With hers, you could count the whiskers on a possum at 100 yards! LOL

Basic Question - do those new LED Bulbs really make a good decent light with a nice pattern like OEM Bulbs AND don't blind oncoming traffic?

And how do they last?

Ozymandias, I'll let the others chime in, but for me, I'm please with them. I had the Silvania Ultra before and they were good, but always seemed yellow to me. I haven't used them where I want to as of yet, and that's on a cross country trip through the desert. I live in the country and there are deers that can shoot in front of you in a split second so lighting is imperitive. Local use, they have been brighter, seems to extend much farther than stock and I have yet to be flashed by oncoming cars indicating they are in the oncomers eyes. Per the manufactures emails, they say the units last 30,000 hours. But who actually times them ?

Lights are fine on the new trucks until you drive a vehicle with better lights. I've mentioned in other threads how it annoys me that my ~$50k '14 Durango Citadel has EXPONENTIALLY better lights than my ~$70k '15 RAM Long Horn. Not even close to the same league. In addition, my "old" ~26k 2008 Prius also has exponentially better lights than my brand new top of the line every option box checked Ram. My '03 Navigator also had brighter lights. I think that's going back far enough. haha

I have a 2016 Ram 3500. The projection lights are better than my 2011 truck but still suck. I run the driving/fogs on all the time at night. They help but I'm looking for a lot more light.

I spent more thna the average person did. I bought LIifetimeLED. (https://www.lifetimeledlights.com )
They are more pricey, but if needed, per the warrantee, they replace them for life.
And since I plan on keeping my truck till it wears out, I should be good.

Sounds good, can you do me a favor and make some pictures.
Just drive in front of a wall, 30feet or so away and make two picture of the wall with lowbeam on and highbeam on?
that would be great. I'd like to see the light pattern before i spend a lot of money, i have high expectations in quality.

I've been thinking of installing a light bar like my offroad buggy. Thinking a 20" would fit nice and perfect between the tow hooks. :)

My current plan after Christmas, is upgrade the Low, High, and Fog bulbs to the Extreme White by PIAA or LED by PIAA. I want to keep it 100% able to go back to stock though.
Then a single row 30'' ish Rigid Bar for front.
And some Rigid Dually Floods for the rear.

Still researching and pricing.
