Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Xfer case jumps into neutral

Hi

I am on a long road trip towing small trailer with a motorcycle (my truck is a 6 speed 4x4) and my transfer case keeps jumping out of gear into neutral when I hit a expansion joint in the road or a dip in the road. extremely inconvenient having to pull over and shift into gear. Any help as to what is happening or anything I can do on the road to adjust or ???

two choices: use a bungie cord, rope or wire and tie off to seat mount or look underneath and see what is loose/broken causing to shift.

Check your transmission mount bolts. Mine were missing their nuts.
