Help! my trans gets too hot.

Head up on PacBrake mounting

I posted this over in the 24V Forum and have not yet really arrived at any conclusions. I bought this unit and installed it with the 1000 software initially. The truck was stronger, but I was still making the same 19. 5lbs of boost as stock. I called Quadzilla and Jacob told me to load the 2000 file and it should up the boost since it is a more "aggressive" program.

Well, it is a bit stronger and I now make 20lbs of boost. I had tried an Edge box back a couple of years ago and I recall the boost being in the upper 20's to low 30's. Running empty so it was rather hard to get a really consistant reading.

Shouldn't the XZT+ be doing enough timing, fueling, and boost fooling to get higher pressure? What are any others experience that are using this product?

Quadzilla does not seem to be able to give me a straight answer.

I will not say that I am disatisfied, yet. But, it seems to me that I should see higher than 20lbs of boost and that it may produce a bit more power should it do so.

Any help is appreciated.

I would check for leaks, I'm running the XZT+ with the 2000 file on my '01. 5 and get 34 to 36lbs of boost.

What about the waste gate? If you have the factory elbow on the turbo, it will still limit boost by opening the waste gate at around 20lbs. The old edge/diesel dynamic boxes came with a replacement elbow that had a hole in it to bleed off some pressure so the wastegate wouldn't open so easily. Try unhooking the line from the turbo to the actuator and see if it goes up.
