y2k 3500 Air Conditioner - Full Time?

Hi,

I'm just wondering if the air conditioner compressor in the y2k trucks runs all the time or does it cycle? Other than the "Max-Air" position of the air conditioner, at what point does the compressor cycle?

I'm thinking about installing a switch in the compressor clutch circuit to disable the compressor so I can just get fresh air vented into the truck. Migh just help fuel mileage too. I dunno...

Hey neighbor, I'm just down the road here in Sachse.

To answer your question, on my 00 3500 the a/c will also run in the split mode (floor and dash) and defrost. It does not run in floor only or dash only. I sure like the 96 set up better. You could turn off the fan.

Welcome from another North Texas neighbor here in Argyle(just south of Denton).

My Y2K 3500 opreates like Chaw's. I don't mind the fan controls since I never turn it off. If you'll listen to your enginr idling in Neutral, with the A/C compressor cycling, the electronics compensates for the additional load on the engine--pretty responsive.

d/c back to modelchange in 94 a/c 's run all the time any time of the year,
latest tech, blend air theory,
deal's with foging of the inside of the windows...
cut out the a/c and the fogging comes back. .
defroster (cold climate) won't operate correctly.
if you notice there is also no hot water shut off to the heater hose's. . now the jog of the blend air door.
in short leve it alone!!!
