Am trying to replace the water pump on above engine, there is a sleeve on the shaft just above the water pump impeller that doesn't want to come off, it will move but am afraid to force it. Any ideas how this thing is held in place???? thanks, bg

There's a couple of different designs. But if it's the common style, I use a piece of steel with a slot cut in it to capture the sleeve. Then I drift out the shaft with a brass drift and a ball peen.

However, you probably should just call the local shop, have them scan that page and send it to you. Some are actually threaded and I would have to see it to know for certain.
