Yanmar conversions

The MTD tiller is basically a POS. It has gearbox problems. I think I am going to go for getting a BCS tiller to put on the 8 horse ACME engine I already have.

Going to pick up the E-Z-Go "Workhorse" this week. That will be a project but will be sweet when done! I have a lead on another little engine I may put on the tiller but want to save the other Yanmar for an air compressor and will keep it on the trash pump for now. The wood splitter works AWESOME! Used it about 4 hours Saturday and it only burned about a quarter of a tank of fuel! (2 liter tank)

Would that little engine work as a 3500 watt APU? I want to build one for my semi tractor. $8000. 00 for an APU is stupid.

Yes, the L70 Yanmar would easily run a 3500 watt generator. The Robin one in my pictures is a 3300 watt unit. That engine is around 5 horsepower. The L60 I have on our company pressure washer is around 6 horse. The L70 is rated at 6. 8 horsepower. You could buy the engine somewhere and put it on a generator, as I did for my pressure washer. Other manufacturers make these engines also. Fuji/Robin/Subaru, Yanmar, Hatz, and Lombardini are the ones I know of. Kohler just started offering a small air cooled diesel also. Northern Industrial Tools sells diesel generators. Beware of the chinese "clones" that are out there though. They are NOT comparable quality to the genuine Yanmar engines.

This is the Northern Tools generator with the 10 horse Yanmar engine. This is an awesome engine. We have them on our service truck air compressors. The engine has a switched lead on it which will run a fuel transfer pump so you can run it off your truck's fuel tank. This is how we have our air compressors plumbed/wired also. We have a Northern Tool hot water pressure washer which is about to get a Yanmar L100 engine installed. It has been a great unit but the Honda gas engine is annoying because it is fuel thirsty. The burner is diesel powered and the engine should be also!

I ordered it, less engine and they gave me a $350 credit. Had to pay for it up front, before they ordered it. Had it in 3 days.
