Video Guru's Help!

I have always had good success shoving a hose down into the hole and flooding them out. Sometimes it takes a few tries though.

Wife drops a few poison tablets down each hole. Takes time, but seems to work.

I on the other hand enjoy sniping them from the front porch with the air riffle while lubricating my liver. :-laf

Lately there have been so many stray cats around getting the voles that the well fed cats are more of a problem. If I shoot at those I will get hit with the frying pan. Damn felines.

Run pvc from your tail pipe down into one of the holes. Cover up all the rest of the holes. Run your vehicle for X amount of time. Problem solved. This method works great.

When I was having a problem with them I used a a product I think it was called poison peanuts. Came in a round cone shaped bottle. Stuff worked great.

I walk my yard with a 22 Marlin, step down all new runs I find. . Go back to the house, have a cup of coffee. . 20 minutes later, walk the yard again, find a busy mole, three shots, then my heeler digs em up. . Not efficient but it passes the time!! The Heeler will NOT dig them up on her own,,

I watch for them pushing up the ground, sneak out there with a shovel and trap them at the front of the tunnel. Pry them up and do with them what you will. They have some serious claws for diggin'!

In all seriousness, you've probably other problems besides the moles. In short, their food. You've probably got grubs. Eliminate the grubs, the moles will leave.

Forgot to mention that we have a 4 month old Beagle named "Turbo":D So I need to be careful with what I put back there. I want to till the yard up and put down sod when it warms up.

After I till it up, what should I mix in the soil??

Torque,

Moles main diet are earthworms. They are not grubs. This is a big misconception.

I go to a lawn care seminar every year to keep my Ct Custom Grounds licence active.

The big talk last year was a new Mole control product called Talpirid. The early feedback was phenomenal.

I bought some last year and used it once for a mole and it worked GREAT. I didn't follow the directions about finding an active tunnel, I just dropped a worm in a tunnel and never saw the mole again.

You can't buy it at Home Depot. I found it at a local Lesco distribution center. It's labeled for "professional use only". They didn't ask to see my professional licence. It can be found on eBay.

More info: http://www.belllabs.com/talpirid/

A strong buy for mole control.
