My numbers don't look near as good, but they are much better than what I saw driving a '95 1500 with the 360 (and pulling the same trailer)!

Fill-ups = 55

Total Gallons = 1349. 777

Total Miles Driven = 20,290

Miles w/camper or other trailer (6000# to 14000#) = 3,971

Average MPG = 15. 03

Max MPG, Single Tank = 22. 84

Min MPG, Single Tank = 10. 73

Most Expensive Fuel = $3. 379

Least Expensive Fuel = $2. 419

Average Cost Per Gallon = $2. 87

Total Fuel Cost = $3,877. 96

Engine Hours Accumulated in 2006 = 609

Average Speed in 2006 = 33. 32

Repairs: None

I have two diesels and drove them each about 1,700 miles this past year. At that rate , they will last an eternity. No need for parts :D

I put about 25,000 on my truck this past year. 1 trip to Moab and the rest of the miles from going to work, sled pulls, camping trips, etc.

I put just under 50k... slowed down a bit since I have a car to drive to work now...

Going to do this little bit of calculating once I get this final report done... then I can goof off... 50k worth of stuff takes some time!

How did you arrive at the engine hours and average speed??

I think this function is only available on the 3rd Gens. There is a thread on the board someplace, but I think it is accessed using the triple key turn in the same way you get trouble codes.

As best I recall (the owners manual has the procedure) the engine hours on an '05 are pulled by holding the odometer button in, then turning on the ignition switch but not starting the engine. Once you have the hours, divide your total miles by the total hours to get your average speed to date.

We sure track some strange things; is that boredom, or do we really need to know?

Added about 30K to the clock last year.

It would be too painful to see how much I spent in fuel. :{ Lets just say a bunch.

In service 11/04

Miles as of 1/07 63,000.

Repairs: one axle CV joint.

Coupla oil changes, a fuel filter or two and a bath about every week. Original tires and brakes.

Just gettin' warmed up.

I know that for the '06, turn the key to the "RUN" position (not start), and with the odometer (not trip counter) showing, press and hold the trip reset button on the dash. After about 3-5 seconds the hourmeter will display the engine hours.

I don't know if this is done differently on earlier trucks...

Math is weird on MPG, but that's the way it adds up.

I drove more miles last year, the car is cheaper with the cost of diesel. Mostly running the Dodge when I'm hauling something in the back or kids (no airbags, kids get to ride in the front seat).

Replaced: Starter, battery cable, heater core, 6 gallons Delo.

Needs replaced:
