Leave gas fridge on while traveling?

Hi, i'm new to the tdr. my problem is the fender on our 3500 has turned yellow from soot. i've tried degreaser, wax,. it has helped but there is still a small tint of yellow. we have added exhaust extension to help reduce the soot. our dealer has offered to repaint the section. is there any other solution?

Thank you for your help.

Welcome aboard.

You might post this in the 2nd gen> no engine drive train discussions

It will probably get more exposure

I have a 2500. The only discoluration I have heard about has been diesel stains on the white trucks from filler nozzel dribbles. I did not think stock trucks smoked.

RB, I got my fenders re-painted by the dlr. under warranty for the very same reason, plus diesel stains. I was told by the body shop that they repainted with the same paint that the rest of the trk. was painted with. The original paint is special for the urathane, or what ever the fenders are made of. It was done about 135K mi. ago, and is fine now. I also added a down pipe, now have no trouble with soot stains.

ToolmanTimTaylor posted this topic awhile ago, same problem with his dually fenders turning yellow. I have yet to see a problem, other than a small hint of yellow on my D. side due to a spill of diesel. I used a wax called liquid glass and it defintely helped.

My pass. side gets a good dose of soot and is still as pure as wind driven snow, once I clean it. It might have more to do with the amount of direct sunlight they see, rather than the soot ???

edit... Forgot to add... WELCOME ABOARD !!!!
