Boughjt fuel last sat a. m. Filled up the truck and then filed up a 5 gal container for use in my little Kubota tractor. Got home and started to refuel the Kubota tractor and noticed the fuel was bright yellow. Usually when I refuel my trk the fuel is clear or some times light green. I thought the off road fuel was dyed a bright color to prevent you from using it in your on road trks. The fuel I bought came from the same hose that is used for on road fuel. I buy my fuel at Pacific Pride card lock pumps. Did they accidently put the off road fuel into the on road tanks? Just dont want to get dipped and get fined for using off road diesel in my on highway trk.

Yup new to me too. This stuff looks like orange juice when you pour it out of a 5 gal container. My guess is thyey might have put the off road diesel into the onroad under ground tank.

That's a new one on me. I've only seen the green on-road and the red off-road

I know that diesel when it is first distilled out of crude oil is a lot of the time yellow/clear. Yellow because of the nitrogen, sulfur , and aromatic content. It could be that you got some of the higher sulfur diesel with the EPA restrictions not enforced. Here in Cal. off road diesel is dyed red. As far as I have heard read about, you only have to worry about the red dyed diesel being used past 9/15/2005.

I hope there have not been any issues with the performance. I do know that a very minute amount of the red dye goes a long, long way. You should be okay. Let us know if anything happens.

Yes the fuel is still clear and not cloudy. I have several hours on my Kubota and it runs just fine. Also I have put almost 100 miles on the trk since refueling from the same source and so far everything is fine. I will let you know if there is problems with it. I have always bought my fuel from this source since the trk was new and never had any issues. The source is Pacific Pride a chain of card lock commercial re-fuel stations. They are located in most of the western states.

Red is the only color that will get you in trouble with the DOT. We had a load of fuel delivered on the farm that was green (as oppose to the normal blue). This green fuel looked almost yellow but put it in a clear bottle and it looked just like Moutain Dew. Almost yellow when you pour it.

Sorry.

I had to go really bad and the bathrooms were locked. They left the cover off the tank sooo. . Darned multi vitamins do that too me.

David, my son purchased some diesel fuel to clean out his motorcycle engine. And yes the fuel he brought home is yellow too

It could be biodiesel. I bought some B99 a few weeks ago and it was a yellowish color. If so it shouldn't hurt anything except maybe break some gunk loose from your tank and lines if your truck is fairly old and plug your fuel filter.

I put the B99 in a five gallon can to blend with the normal #2 to get approximately B5 (that's when I noticed the color). Just doin' my part to help the farmers and lower our dependance on foreign oil.

This needs to be said.

That fuel is completely bad and illegal.

You need to ship it to me --prepaid of course.

I know how to dispose of it legally.

(Somehow, I doubt this works)!

Now that I think about it was like the color of Mountain Dew. If it was Bio dielsel I have no problem with that either. Long as it runs ok and dosent hurt my truck I am all for supporting our farmers .

I do have over 185,000 miles on my truck so if it causes my filter to plug up I carry a spare and will change it.
