Hi everyone, thanks for having me here. I have a 2015 ram 2500 6.7l cummins with 22k

Last night I put truck into reverse, shift letters turned yellow and wouldn't move. Put it back into park and into reverse again everything turned to normal except check engine light came on. Well this morning on way to dealer for diagnostics the light went off in the driveway. I assumed that all is well.

Now I'm driving to work in West Texas and the light came on again 300 miles from home. Truck is acting normal. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on? I've searched and searched for answers and nothing.

Thank you guys so much in advance for any info.

I'm thinking the all-yellow PRND indication is likely due to an invalid transmission range signal (i.e. the PCM got a trans range signal that did not correspond to any valid shift position). That should be accompanied by a P0706 fault code, but that should not light the CEL. It is fairly common to get a momentary glitch now and then that results in the invalid range sensor reading, so unless it becomes more frequent I wouldn't worry about it. As for the CEL, you'd have to have someone check the fault codes to see what was causing that. Most parts stores will read your PCM fault codes for free.
