Alright so I was wondering what exactly is the yellow tab you can move towards the motor on my truck I am guessing it is a fuel water seperator! is this correct? if so how often should it be emptied and what if it has not been done in awhile? how often do I need to change that filter?

it is the fuel drain for the filter. there is a water in fuel light on the dash that comes on if water is present. the sensor sometimes gets contaminated and it doesnt work. drain intervals are your choice.

yes it is a drain for the filter. You can open it when you go to replace the fuel filter. This keeps the fuel from running down the out side of the filter holder keeps dirt off of engine

Good idea to change the fuel filter every other oil change. Otherwise, you should only have to use this drain if you get the "water in fuel" light.

If you do, only drain a small amount of fuel or you will draw too much air into the system and have a-whole-nother headache on your hands!

You can get the air out by turning the key on only do not go all the way to start this will get the air out and fill the filter I alway turn my key and wate till the pump stops 3 to 4 times---BEN

I have never gotten the WIF light, but dump it every time i do the filter which is every 10k for me.
you get 15seconds of run from the LP if you bump (not start) the starter... I dont mind a little fuel spray, makes for good cologne so I open the banjo on the VP till the air quits. sometimes have to bump it a couple times.
