3M makes a headlight lens restoration kit, I purchased one from Harbor Freight for $7, they are also on Ebay. They work great, made my Daughter's Honda's lens look like new.
Steve, not sure which headlights you have, but if you don't, have you considered the sport headlight conversion. The difference is immense. If I could pick one modification I've done to my truck that was the best it would definitely be the sport headlight conversion. I can see SO much better at night and they look great. I have a post I did about my install here:
If you're not looking to do something like that, Novus makes a 3 step polish that will do great on plasic. I've used it before on lightbar lenses and they polish them up great.
A quick, cheap, temporary fix is to use some tooth paste and polish the plastic using a soft cloth. The best, most expensive and best results is to upgrade to the sport conversion style lights.
Absolutely. The pre 99 model year trucks have to have the headlight buckets cut just a bit to accept the new headlights. Lots of people have done it and its easy to do. All you really need is a sawzall with a metal cutting blade. Im including a link to a website that shows some photos of a pre 99 model that had to have the buckets enlarged. I HIGHLY recommend doing this modification. Of all the ones I've done for my truck, this is the BEST one I've done. If you have any questions or need any help just let me know. Good luck!
After spending a lot of time trying to polish out 700k of road grime damage to my lenses I gave up. I found a set of new looking light assemblies on a different website for $50. A search of local u-pull-it yards might yield a good set of lights also.
