During the summer my death wobble came back after a year of absence. Last year when I first started getting it, I replaced the track bar on my 1998 5-spd 12v CTD. That worked for a while until this summer. There is a spot near my house where I will get death wobble 100% of the time if I'm going over 35mph.

I have a 1998, so it has the inverted-T steering. I replaced the tie rod ends and the drag link with Moog parts. I couldn't align it, so the steering wheel was 180 degrees from normal. The first thing I did was drive to the spot near my house, and no death wobble! I did this a few more times, and everything was great except for the steering wheel being upside-down.

The next week, I took it to Firestone for an alignment, and they gave me a call after a few hours saying it was aligned, but they couldn't get the steering wheel to center without pulling it, and that would cost extra. I declined, but about an hour the guy called me back to say they got the steering wheel to center anyway and that I could come pick it up.

The truck drove great for a day until I drove over that spot near my house, and the death wobble was back. Not only did the death wobble come back, my steering wheel became uncentered. I now have to hold the wheel about 45-60 degrees to the left just to drive straight. The wheel straightens out when I stop, so this might be brake pull?

At this point I don't know what to do. I'm sure I could install a steering box stabilizer, a Redhead steering box, a new steering shaft, and new bushings for the control arms and sway bar, but I'd rather not drop that kind of cash unless I have to.

Well if your steering goes off center somthing is very wrong, could be as simple as a track bar bolt came loose so the axle is moving, I would have somone turn the wheel back and forth while you look at the front axle, steering and suspension components, look for something moving that looks like it shouldnt
