I'm about to pull the trigger on a 3 guage Di-Procol setup, but having trouble deciding on a few things. Perhaps ya'll could help me out. First, let me say that I tow under 10K on an infrequent basis (only when camping). I will likely do a transmission upgrade sometime down the line. I will likely upgrade the turbo sometime down the line. I will purchase one of the "new" boxes - whether that would the new EZ (when it comes out) or the TST or the Banks 6 gun... . I don't know which or when (I currently have the TTPM installed).

Here's my questions... .

1. ) EGT guage + Boost Guage + ????? (Trans temp? or Fuel Pressure Guage?) <--- which is more important to me

2. ) Do I want 0-60 or 0-35psi boost guage?? (I'm thinking I should get the 0-60 since I might upgrade the turbo in the future).

3. ) Lastly, where can I get the best price on the above? I was looking at DPPs 3 guage special here.

TIA Guys - I appreciate the help (as always)

Steve

Since you have the auto I would suggest the EGT, Boost, and transmission temp. In my opinion you can never protect a $3000 dollar transmission to much. I would also get the 0-60 boost gauge. With my EZ and boost elbow I can hit 38psi pretty much any time I want. I don't know where the cheapest gauge are right now though. I have the DiPricol boost and EGT and am very satisfied with them.

Do what i did. quadzilla in dash gauge holder = 25. something

0-60 boost + fuel pressure + pyro + trans temp all four for 355.

TOTAL = 380 bucks. I am getting the srt-10 a-pillar which holds the 1 gauge. Boost will probably go there. . the srt-10 a-pillar is like 60 bucks...

JMHO

I was leaning towards a transmission temp gauge because I have the 48RE, but then I've read (or dreamed that I read) that our trucks already monitor transmission temps and will kick it out of OD if temps get out of line? Is this accurate? If so... then is there any reason to get a transmission temp guage instead of fuel pressure guage?

By the time our trucks do that its too late :(. Id get a trans gauge, and a fuel pressure gauge. The bottom line (IMO) is get all the gauges that can save you BIG money. Before i bought mine i was asking around on tdr if i needed this and that. And what my response was would you like to buy this 90 dollar gauge or pay the bill for when it dies, and you could have prevented it... . I say spend the 90 bucks or whatever it costs... And take care of that potential problem

JMHO. .

Brad,

Not yet. I ordered them a couple nights ago. They should be here soon. Sorry if i sounded like i had them in already. I will post a pic when i get them in.

Not a problem Nick. I just ordered my truck 2 days ago so.....

I'm just trying to get a head start on what I may need to get started as far as gauges so that I can monitor the vitals. Very nice looking truck you have and when you get those gauges in, post some pics, would love to see that setup. Thanks

nick,

where did you get your gauges from? i did a google-quadzilla search and came up dry?

i'm interested in a 4 guage install and know what i want the pod to look like but i haven't found a good picture of what i'm ordering. i want something that looks like this (the black 4 pod)

does yours look anything like this?

where are you going to mount your gauges? centerline top-dash?

thanks

hmm im suprised memebr name : quad . hasnt seen this yet. Its a in dash thing. it goes in your cubby hole. 3 gauges. I am getting the srt-10 a-pillar for the 1 gauge = boost gauge... the other 3 are going in the cubby hole gauge pod (in dash)

i have a laramie, there are no cubby-holes in the dash

i believe what you are talking about is where the heated seat controls are on the laramie - i maybe SOL with your particular install

thanks

SRT-10 a-pillar. Good idea. Does that retain the handle?

I have the electric shift tranfer case, which makes the cubby hole smaller. I wonder if I can still fit 2 gauges in there?

bertram65,

your guage install looks slick. i was right, unable to use this configuration on the laramie as there are heated seat controls there.

thanks

srt-10 does retain the a-pillar, With my front on 35's and a 2" leveling kit it would be a pain in the *** to get in without the pillar
