:D After sitting in the background for over a year and lots of research, this past Friday my wife and I adopted a 98. 5 QC, LB, 2WD, my first diesel.

I want to thank each of you for your input on my decision. I realize none of you knew at the time that you were positively influencing me, but each of you did.

I love this truck and, like everyone else out in TDR Land, have that ear-to-ear grin that I just can't get rid of.

I'm sure I'll have bunches of questions and I hope to get good, reliable answers. Looking forward to making lots of friends here on the TDR Web Site.

welcome to the party!

BOMBs away!

Welcome to you both. Enjoy your trucks to their full potential, you WILL be amazed.

It's a happy bunch here... .

Great engine/truck you'll enjoy it. .

Welcome, have fun, and don't sniff the diesel exhaust fumes too long... we all know how great it smells, but not too good for the brain cells... .

;) :D ;) Thanks bunches for the welcomes everyone.

My wife has already told me that we are NOT using the MC/Visa for anything else for a long, long time. Oh, well. Maybe I can sneak something in a little later when she's over the sticker shock. Right now it's too early for anything to quit, break, fall off or run away. Her birthday has already passed this year. And Christmas will be a bow stuck on the roof of my CTD.

just tell her that diesel fumes make you horny. then explain that a 4" pipe will let you smell the fumes better. then add that the fumes improve with a fueling box. then, more with a turbo conversion... ... ... ... ..... anyway, you get the drift:D

Herb.....

If I had tried that on my wife, there would be NO way she would have even let me buy my CTD!

BK - guess that means you must be quite the stud-muffin huh? Got her worn out already without the extra fumes! :D

If the sex angle doesn't work, can always use the financial approach:

4" exhaust lowers egt - longer turbo life

fueling box - better gas mileage

turbo conversion - no brainer with all the money saved from the fueling box. Besides it will last forever with the 4" pipe.

Neil.....

What sold her on the CTD in the 1st place was getting a "bigger" camping trailer and getting better mpg with the diesel Vs the gassers we towed with.

But thats no reflextion on the sex side of things...

The Sex thing, is a matter of too much of a good thing I guess...

She said it's like a real sweet cake. . too much makes her sick...

Not getting stuck, making things more reliable is my angle that works... ... .

After the warranty is up I'll manager to get a TC, VB and box from

Bill K.
