Hi Guys:
I added the GDP filter in the engine bay two years ago and am considering supplementing that with a frame mounted water filter. When I cut the feed line from the tank to the pump, will the fuel continuously siphon from the tank until I hook the line to the new filter setup?

I would say "yes" since the fuel level in tank is higher than the feed line.

I didn't have a siphoning problem when I cut my fuel line. I got more fuel coming out of the OEM filter canister than I did the tank. I would recommend draining the OEM canister before cutting the line.

Even when I drain my frame mounted F/W Sep there is very little flow, the tank just doesn't care to siphon out.

Install it with a nearly empty tank to help, but it shouldn't be an issue.

Just hold the cut line higher than the tank for a few seconds and it will drain the fuel from the line back into the tank. Once the line is dry, it can not siphon.

I installed 2 large filters on the frame... I started to do this with the Ford's that I owned when I found that the stock filter wouldn't protect the Ford injector... We use a 10 micron primary filter with a water drain and a secondary filter that is 2 micron... my housing is a simple block of aluminum machined on a CNC... but there are lot of places.. tractor supply, Big R and other farm stores where you can purchase a very simple housing that works fine... I change mine every 18 months or so... I've never had one get restricted and plugged and after checking for water often I now do it 3 or 4 times a year.. often finding nothing more than a teaspoon... The Wix, Donaldson, Napa filters I use hold at least a quart of fluid and can supply something like 10 gals a minute.... and the fuel filters will never pump that volume...
