The Apache server software crashed. Ken is searching the logs right now, it looks like it crashed about 8:43 pm eastern time. Looking around this morning there's quite a few sites that I go to regularly that their forums are crashed (irv2.com and www.thedieselpage.com to list a couple). So there may have been a major attack on forums last night which crashed a bunch of em.

Whew- I thought it was my machine too, but I also tried from our T-3 at work. I tried to Ping and it wouldn't work, so I figured the sh** hit the fan. IRV-2 went down late last night, it still isn't up. Glad to see you recovered!

Status

On first glance at the logs, it does not appear we were hit by a denial of service attack. The other sites that went down were running Ultimate BB.



It looks like the database simply crashed, hanging the Apache web server. Unfortunately, it was my birthday so I was not around when it happened.



I'll be doing an indepth analysis of the TDR logs and if it was a DOS attack, I'll nail the loser.

Sorry guys it was probably me who overloaded it trying to store my tax return in the readers rigs forum. Guess the server doesn't like fifteen digit numbers...
