MMMM,,Lets see here,if I'm not sure how I could fit all them in one little spot like this,,Guess I'll have to mark my three favorites in my two home areas here in PA,,Around here close to me it would have to be Coombs Tavern and their make your mouth water ,3 LB prime rib(just came from there)and Fuddruckers 1 LB burgers with all the trimmings,,Up in Northern PA between Scranton and Kingston(my old stomping grounds and worthy of many a road trip just for this)is a little pizza shop called "Victory Pig",,Pizza is pan fried on top of a open flame stove and you'll find none better,,Ok,now I think I'll have to dig some out of the freezer for my snack... ... ... ... . You are what you eat

No truer words were ever spoken... Meat and eggs is my fare. Just finished breakfast of steak and eggs.

Beef its whats for dinner... Lunch... and breakfast. You can't beat Costco and Sams Club for fresh Choice Beef at a good price. Worst place for the worst meat that I have found is Walmart.

Beer bellies... There is no such thing!! Carbohydrates call up an overdose of insulin that stores what ever fat you ate right in your belly. No carbs... No fat bellie. Oh, and lite beer has half the carbs of regular beer. So have a Bud Lite.

My fav food would have to be food. I eat anyting and everything. The lone exception so far has been duck liver pate, I just could not get past the look of it, kind of like someone made jello out of mud puddle water.

My favoriate would have to be pizza but its not real good for ya. I have been eathing lots of chicken and rice... Since its summer the fresh fish has been good... nothing like fresh salmon grilled with some lemon pepper... .

WyoJim - when you get to Alaska and are driving through Girwood (South of Anchorage) and need a steak, try the Double Musky. There pepper steak is about the best steak I have ever eaten. It's not cheap, but it is good.

JR2-Off Beat Question 1

I have always been told Salmon would kill a dog. My partner fed salmon trimmings to his bird dog and it damn near died. From what I am told those sled dogs are fed nothing else? Is it just because it's dried salmon or what?

Well I had no idea the pooch was not susposed to eat salmon. My old dog (finally went to big dog house in the sky at 17 years) ate all manner of salmon parts his whole life. I would take him fishing and he would chew on old dead fish all day long. I guess no one told him it was bad. The Natives in Alaska feed there sled dogs on fish all the time and have been forever.

Well I guess you learn something every day.

German & Czech Sausage

Eckermann's dry smoked sausage, and Herbert Schovasja's garlic sausage!!! Mmmm Mmmm.

Chappel Hill sausage runs a close third.

Favorite Grub

My wife is of Cuban decent and on Christmas Eve, we have a traditional meal of slow roasted pork shoulder that has been marinated in tons of garlic and lemon juice for three days, seasoned black beans, rice and a dish called Yuca(the U is long). It is a root like a white potato but more starchy. It is boiled then seasoned with chopped garlic that has been fried in olive oil and then has lemon juice poured on it. This is about as good as it gets!!:) Chris

I am omnivorous, veggies (lots when there in season), meat, (red, white), fish... . beans & rice! Sourdough bread! LOTS.

Mike

P. S. Bill, there was a documentary on blood last night, "Red Gold". Turns out plasma suppliers have were going to South America to get the best..... beans and rice makes it. The people were real happy getting 4 bucks to donate as thats what a good per day wage is. Then AIDS and Hepititus made a mess of it all.

It was on KCET Ch 28 here

there was some science show on TLC at 10:00est that talked about synthetic blood and other new scientific things. the blood was kinda of cool. . but there was one real neat part when they put a lab mouse into a liquid called oxyegent [iirc?] if anyone here has seen the movie "the abyss" where the navy guy tosses that guys rat into the liquid air. . it looked exactally the same... kinda creepy. the liquid was a fluoral carbon based liquid that was clear that was oxygen rich. .

looks like science is watching too much scifi channel

I put spare ribs in the smoker at 10am using hickory smoke and 225 degree heat. At 1pm I foil rapped them and at 2:30 I unrapped them for 20 minutes. Took them in the house, covered them with towels untill 5pm then we had them for dinner. Hot dam you had to make yourself quit eating them!!!

Eat more meat and you will feel better.
