You bought a USED 6.0? I'm sorry!

Started seeing an 03 6. 0 CC 250 in the parking lot at work a couple days. Didn't know who it belonged to until today. Turns out to be a guy I have helped with events here at the museum. He is from the audio/visual company and rigs stuff for the events.



Saw him pull in while I was talking to the museum director and after the director went inside I asked him (Ron) how he likes his 6 liter. Said, "Oh, I LOVE IT!" Asked him if he had anything wrong with it, he said no, just bought it, USED, with 5000 miles on it, cause the previous owner didn't make payments.



Then he says, "I just did a 4" exhaust and AFE intake... . best $1000 I ever spent!"



Holy crap, $1000? Guess that's what he gets!



I was just ITCHING to tell him about the fan belt replacement, or how much fuel is in his oil, or if he has even popped the hood on the thing yet.



But I kept my mouth shut. Why ruin a guy's day by telling him that? I will let him figure it out for himself

Sad part is it the truck is probably a buy back unit that could not be fixed to the origional owners satisfaction, highly doubt it was that the owner could not make the payments. Somehow Ford get's around the lemon law by settling with arbitration so it would probably not show on a carfax.

The even bigger shame is that he modded the truck. If that truck was a buy back cause it was a lemon, Ford will be looking for a way out of the warranty. That 1,000 for exhuast and air mods might cost him more than that in the long run if he hits the wrong dealer. ;(

I've got a relative that did the exact same thing. We even talked about all the problems that the early 6. 0l fords are having and he bought one anyway...



Don't get me wrong, it's a NICE truck. It's a real crewcab with leather and all the bells and whistles but I just hope he doesn't have a bunch of problems out of it.



I'll give this to ford, the stock exhaust on that truck sounds real nice, by far the best sounding stock exhaust on any ford diesel I've heard.

A family member just picked up a new 6. 0 Ford 4X4/four door. Something like $46,000 (?)



I wasn't gonna say much. I didn't have to. Said that the last oil drain had metal in it.



I'm really surprised by that one, roll-eyes. Go figure.
