I sqeezed the trigger on the battery powered drill and POOF! I JUST SET MY HAND ON FIRE!

Brake clean is some bad stuff, I heard where a fella sprayed down an area on the engine he spilled some motor oil and it just happened to run down over and into the starter.

When the car was cranked over it blew and went into flames!

Yikes. Good thing he used his armpits and not his pockets!

In the heavy construction shop I work in, I had some apprentices cutting and threading large conduit nipples. They were using brake clean to swab them out with when they were finished. One of the structural crew started up a peanut grinder about 10' away and inadvertently directed his sparks towards the box with the nipples. Of course they flashed over immediately. Quick thinking and appropriate use of an extinguisher by one of the apprentices ended the situation (they aint all meatheads!! ).



Moral of the story, be aware of your surroundings at all times. Pay attention to those on other crews working near you. Above all else CYA!
