Military m35 trucks.....Continental Multifuel

This story is priceless. I was talking to my Dad earlier and he told me about a little conversation he had with one of his friends. His friend had been bragging about his Ford F250 diesel truck that's got all of the little bells and whistles on it. Here's how the rest of it went:

Dad: Sounds good! What kind of mileage do you get with that thing?

Friend: Ah, it's not so good. I get maybe 7-8 in town and 14 on the highway.

Dad: You're kidding! My son bought an '03 Dodge that gets 14-16 in town and 20-22 on the highway. It even got 12 pulling my boat at 65 mph.

Friend: Well, yeah, but mine's 4wd.

Dad: So my son's... .

That's when he said his friend just turned around and walked off..... :D When I was a kid I always knew my Dad was pretty cool, but this was just icing on the cake.

A friend of mine has this buddy who's a Ford junkie. He got a 6. 0 (not sure of the year). STANDARD CAB F-something50. At least 3 years old, 60,000 miles He still owes $34,000 on it still and thinks we'll get all of that back on a trade or private sale. He's on his 3rd transmission and wants a 6. 4 truck, another standcab 6. 4.

heh. I thought that was cute.

You don't buy a Std cab and expect to get much money back for it...

Hey don't get me wrong, There is nothing cooler that a standard cab 2nd gen 3500. My neighbor has a 97 with a ton of miles and rust on it but it is still cool.

You are right about the parking lot trick. Our company truck is a ford f350 fleetside crew cab long bed. That this is like parking a aircraft carrier onto a boat trailer. -Jason

Quit picking on us std. cab. guys!:) I gotta laugh at home depot seeing you real truck guys try and park those suckers! Longbeds,I must specify!

I don't have any problem parking my 3500 DRW long bed at HomeDepot. I park at the farthest end of the parking lot and pull through so I don't have to back up when I leave.

yea but don't fords almost turn as tightly as a grayhound bus :-laf my C&C with 11' flatbed doesn't have too much trouble as long as the other people mind their lines, i still find it amusing that i can wedge this pig into a spot usually on the first try straight (bed is pretty much on the line both sides it's so wide) and while walking though the lot i see all of the compact cars parked across a spot and a half
