Looks like our current administration is being hipocritical as usual. The last Republican administration expanded spending rather than cut it also.

About the only thing you can absolutely count on when one of the major news outfits reports that type of story is that its going to be "warped" to fit their adgenda!

Remember the "god ain't it awful" expose on meat package expiration date changing ?

Guess I'd better describe it for the new guys or ones who missed my post on it a year or so ago.

One of the major networks news mag. programs---one with

a number and time interval in the name, ---did a "god aint it awfull" program where they showed employees of a southern grocery chain changing the expiration date on packages of meat.

Well, the grocery chain did not take it lying down as the great news talking head assumed and sued the network and the program and its officers in Federal court where following available proceedures, they were able to get a list of the networks employees both before and after the filming of the great expose.

GUESS WHAT?

Those awfull employees of the grocery chain who did the dirty deeds showed up as employees of the network both BEFORE and AFTER the filming was done!

A complete fraud by good old , well, they have lots more money than I do, so guess I would be wise to omit the name, but you will see him blathering away as one of the BIG names on that network.

And you can bet you did not see that reported on any of the other networks!!!

Take what you see on the networks with a big grain of salt till you get the rest of the story, its likely to be significantly different than the slant they put on it.

Yea Democratic administrations are never hypocritical.

They got a 3.1 percent across-the-board increase

NO wonder O'l Ron views CNN as biased media when he engages is selective reading. You seem to have missed something. Read it again. OR..... You must have omitted that fact intentionally because you have an agenda..... how dishonest of you to accuse and label an organization as being biased when you yourself engage in the very same thing.

"Liberal Media" is an age old textbook response from the right wing who cannot defend their actions. When a news agency reports something negative about this administration they are labeled "the liberal media".

Ok, Ok, back to the subject... ..... anyone want to defend Bush on this one?

I could care less if Bush is hypocritical. You don't think every administration lies and deceives the public? Wait , wait... ... Clinton was a saint right..... :-laf I did read the article and I am not saying they didnt get the raise, of course it BS. Doesnt matter what administration it is, its going to happen. I love to get the rise out of people.

Ah Lhotika..

Agenda? Yup, got one. Return to Constitutional and Bill of Rights rule of law.

CNN, UP, ABC, CBS, NBC, AP ALL have an agenda, and it is revisionist history, sensational reporting, and deliberately witholding pertinant facts from "news" stories to influence your thinking.

You need look no further than Rush Limbaugh, Roger Hedgecock, Michael Reagan, The Wallstreet Journal or the Washington Times to see what the other guys omitted or never even reported.

If you really believe that BIG MEDIA has this country's best interest in mind, then they have certainly succeeded where you are concerned.

Know who owns CNN, and what he stands for?

If the media reports only whats in this country's best interest are they truly unbiased as you suggest they should be? Much of what the media reports is gleamed from press releases issued by the government. The government also reports what it thinks is needed to influence public opinion. Ever listen to international news (on shortwave) to see how much it differs from what is reported here in the U. S?

So... ..... you don't have a problem with Bush's pay incentives for gov workers? What ever happened to less gov. spending? You seem to be avoiding the topic... ...

CNN biased??

"NO wonder O'l Ron views CNN as biased media"

Now Lhotka, are you trying to tell us that CNN(Clinton News Network) which is owned by Ted Turner(Of Hanoi Jane Fonda fame) is not guilty of liberal biased reporting? You better do a fact check on that one.

Sam

They won't

Don't worry, they won't or can't defend it. They blame it ALL on biased reporting. How soon they forget how ALL you saw for eight years was the investigation of Clintons wrong doings on the news. Was this biased? No, they all liked that! Too many dirty little secrets in this administration to... ... .

Ram4Sam wasn't it you who suggested in a previous post that changing the subject (this one was about federal worker pay increases) was a tactic used by liberals? Ram4Sam is a liberal!!;)

A what??????????

Man Lhotka, that is a low blow! Talk about name calling. I wasn't trying to change the subject at all. I just needed clarification as to whether or not you really believe that CNN can actually do an unbiased piece of news. Well???????????

Actually, I was caught off guard by your post. I didn't think anyone,(even a flaming Clinton loving liberal like yourself) would take anyone to task for the things in that article. You liberal demos wrote the book on that kind of stuff. Sorta like the pot calling the kettle black.

Sam

You need a target to administer a low blow

Caught off guard? Maybe you should take a deep breath and put a bit of thought into your comments before you post. You have been critical of other TDR members in previous posts for drifting off topic. If seems you have now engaged in a similar behavior that you have previously considered a "liberal tactic".

I am not offended by your characterization of me. I can take a joke as well as dish them out. Poking fun at each is often the nature of these politically related posts. If your were actually serious, I'd caution you about labeling someone you know absolutely nothing about. :) Anyone who is offened by the simple suggestion they are liberal, may want to reconsider visiting the "OTHER" forum or engaging in the exhange.

So what do you think about selective bonuses for top government workers? Do you think that is a good use of your tax dollars?

Whoo boy, you got your underwear in a bunch...

Lhotka, calm down boy!  Of course it was in fun, I never take a liberal seriously:p You should go back and read my prior posts, the only one I was critical of was you and the way you keep slinging stuff against the wall in hopes something will stick. :D (is that enough smilies for you?)

As for the bonus thing, sure it's a waste of tax dollars, that's a no brainer. I'm sure every administration has done it back to 1776. Sure I don't think it's right, but I try not to worry myself into a tizzy about something I can't change, maybe you should try that.

This post was obviously a troll and it's pretty clear you were just looking for a fight. Next time pick something a little more interesting that doesn't make you look like such a hypocrit.

:p  Oo. :D (extras just in case)

Your facts are incorrect. If you read the article closely, it states that Bill Clinton ended the practice when he took office after defeating George Bush Sr. It was recently reinstated by George W. Bush.

Civilians

Well, as an aside (by definition, off topic) liberal bias is a provable fact within the media. Remember the poll that showed of 90% of them voted for Clinton? (it was something like that-- don't quote me). I could elaborate as to WHY this is true, but I will only explain it if someone wants to.

As for Civilians pay raises... the quick answer is that it doesn't matter one iota. I personally don't like the idea of pay bonuses to underworked overpaid bureaucrats. If they didn't give it to them, the Gov't would find some other way to waste money. Maybe a benefit is that retain one of the few people who actually knows how to get our government to do ANYTHING.

This is small potatoes.

I cannot criticize our current President, but I strongly oppose the unending expansion of the US Federal gov't, and neither Dems or Republicans have ANY incentive to stop it or even slow it down.

That's my poli-sci major nickel's worth.
