Driving in Snow

Got to pull a Z71 Cheby out of the mud the other day. In fact he was in my backyard. I had some contractors doing some work and they decided it would be easier to drive around to the back yard and go through the walk out basement. They must have figured they could get through, after all there were plenty of tracks where I had went through. I watched them struggle for about 10 minutes and took pity on them. I backed the mighty Cummins Dually into the mud and tossed them a rope. It really wasn’t even a challenge for the Dodge. They were nearly perpendicular to me when we started so I got to whip their back end around. It was like the hulk pulling a crying baby out of the mud.

What kind of tires you running, Dennis? I sank my dually up to the axle housings, 3 times, in mud at Kentucky Speedway for their inaugural truck race two years ago. Before we even could get out of the truck to go in and watch the race. Since then, I've kept it high and dry :D whenever possible... the Michelins are great in snow and rain, even sand, I had it in dry sand at Daytona Beach and it did just fine. Maybe you got stiffer :D mud up in Chicago? LOL

Surprising!

I am just amazed that a truck with all of those neat stickers on the sides and all of that great accountant driven engineering on the inside could ever get stuck in the first place. :p

Tom,

I am running the factory tires with 46,000 miles on them. I got the 'upgraded' supposed 'off road' tires. They don't look very off road to me. Still have quite a bit of tread on them. I guess I don't do enough burnouts. With the clutch slipping now, the tires will probably last forever.
