My new addiction

Employees want Ford to stop making police vehicles.

What i learn from this video is that with driver input on the gears, under such an extrem test, it would perform much better.
But thats not the way that test is set up.
They want to have it Set on D and see what it does.

Everybody else's automatics work... ummmm... automatically. I hope this is not indicative of what the CTD will be dealing with. It's like Groundhog Day:oops:

No it isn't, the 2500 isn't primarily designed to pull trailers at Max. GCWR. It's more or less a better grocery getter. It must perform perfect under the 99.95% that it will be used for.
This test says nothing more to me then that the drivers brain is still asked to do something from time to time.
It was a pain watching him going downhills and even a bigger pain watching him going uphill seeing the Trans hunting for the right gear.

My take away, the transmission needs better programming to match the engine. As is, it might work better mated to a Cummins where the TQ advantage might do better. Also, the Ford had bigger motor and 4.33s. IMHO, gas engines have to be running very high RPMs to keep momentum and pretty much highlight the disadvantage of pulling heavy with gas engines.

Cheers, Ron

The highways are chock full of 3/4 ton pickups pulling all manner of trailers. I agree 4.10s would be better, but I doubt it would solve the issue. Also remember the Ram was pulling quite a bit less than the others.

I am done making excuses for FCA. They desperately need some new talent on the transmission team.
