Over the years, I've heard arguments both ways on Ziebart services. Personally, I've had great luck with their products. I have taken each of my new trucks over the last 15 years directly to Ziebart after purchase to have their rust protection package done on them. That package includes the body undercoat, frame and suspension undercoat, and drilling and spraying all of the body panels. I had my 2010 crew done earlier this spring for $400 out the door. I also bring them back for the annual inspection/respray which runs $35 at my local Ziebart dealership. So far, I have not had one speck of rust on the vehicles I've had done there and they look like brand new underneath. Knowing the salt and other stuff that is used on the roads around here, it's rather amazing.

There are other companies out there offering similar services that I'm sure are also very good. But, I have only ever used Ziebart and consider it money well spent.

I had a 1976 Plymouth, yes Plymouth van that I had rust proofed by Ziebart when I lived in IL. Was very satisfied with it & it is still running with no rust out in IL winters. Would have done my 02 Ram but could not find a dealer in Reno or Sparks, NV area. It also made the van quieter inside.

There is another post about underbody paint has anyone experience with Ziebart undercoating rust protection

had my truck Ziebarted religously since new. both my doors look like swiss cheese and only took 6 years or so for the rust to take hold. Would have thought that it would have taken longer with Rust Proofing in the doors years, LOL. Think it is more of a function of the crappy dodge door design than the ziebart. Plus I was not happy when Ziebart refused to cover it as it is a know problem area, but there was no notification when I first took truck in that was the case, LOL

Only thing that I really think helped was the underbody coating that they sprayed on everything really keep the rust at bay (or alteast covered up) until about a year ago.

With the current econmy I was forced to stop the ziebart last year and atleast on the underbody you can tell.

I think like alot of stuff the results rely on the prep and ability/"drive" of the applicator. Sometimes I would come out of the place and truck looked great and they seemed to work on it all day, other times they would be calling me 2 hours after I dropped it off. Coincidentially those times, truck didnt look so great and under spray didnt last as long.

Ziebart is a bad idea for long term ownership in areas where road salt is used. It will look great for about 5yrs. The length of time it takes for it to dry out and crack. At this point the salt water is trapped under the coating and rust advances at an alarming rate, destroying panels in as little as 2yrs. If they are oil sprayed at 5yrs the oil will soften the zb and will do okay if oil sprayed every fall from then on.

I use krown... an annual appied oil spray. I have 2 10yr old toyotas that are rust free and a 25 year old landcruiser that I recently sold. All of which were regularly driven on our salt infested roads in ontario. Best thing about krown is that it stops corrosion in all electical connections. . Well worth the hundred or so dollar annual application fee.
