Started the truck and headed for work this morning.

As I turned into the driveway at work, the check engine light came on.

Got the truck oarked and found another P 0191 code.

This is the forth time since I ve had the truck that this code has popped up.

Dealer checks it out and says that according to DC, they are aware of the prob but havent got a fixit yet.

Its just frustrating.

0191 - Fuel Pressure Sensor. I've had it too. The dealer told me it was a computer glitch. They cleared the code, not been back (yet). They also told me DC was aware of this code problem. I spent 4-5 hours at the dealer. The paperwork they gave me states that they "checked the parameters to find all normal operation, suspect software glitch, cleared code and road test, all OK. " That is NOT what they did, I marked my sensor before taking it in, they changed my sensor also. Maybe I got someone elses sensor but I DO have a different one. I would have expected it to be billed out on my warranty and showed up under parts but my paperwork says what's stated above and no parts billing. My truck has run differently since the visit to the shop. I noticed a little white smoke on startup that was not there before. Also, it feels as though I have a little more power in 1st and 2nd gear, quicker power pickup through those gears. 3rd and up are much more throttle response and faster spool up. I think they may have done more than was stated on my paperwork.

I had the flash. Fixed it for a while. Then I got the code again, that's when the dealership replaced the sensor/valve. Since the replacement I have not had the code again. If you go and get the flash, then you get the code again, they WILL replace the sensor/valve. All the flash does is change the variables of the valve's operation slightly, or at least that's how it was explained to me. Then, if you get it again, they change the part. DC's steps to diagnostics will have you there more than once for everything, sometimes many times as you go through the list of troubleshooting steps to some end result.

Which flash # is it? My '03 is doing the same thing. I might just go to the dealer and ask for the flash instead of having to be in/out 50 times and jump through all their hoops...

if they knew it was a computer glitch i wouldnt let the sit there a prob around on my vehicle too many problems with the dealership techs quality of work. "hey it runs and drives". i would say i want my truck back I will come pick up the ticket later but you see that truck over there it looks just like mine pull it in and look busy finding a glitch so you can get reimbursed from DC.

It is a rationality issue, the software wants to see like #s on diff sensors and that will not always be the case. No need to know the tsb#they can plug the truck in,the latest update will show, that# will then be uploaded to the ecm.
