2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Pacbrake PRXB and firestone compressor

Any chance I could save a few bucks installing the PRXB pacbrake and using existing Firestone dual air command compressor/tank for power?

I dont think that the Firestone compressor will last. Its not intended to run as much as it is needed to operate the brake. I would run them both and use the Firestone as a back up.

We have sold some pacbrakes to customers who have the Firestone set up already on their trucks... . and used that air supply... . at this date we've had no problems that I've been told about... .

What you'd need is the exhaust brake itself and the wiring kit only... . with a tee and some hose to tie into your existing system...

Like Jelag said, the brake is very efficient- I've got air horns, compressor and tank... and I'm one of the guys he sold the brake to. Color me happy.

Thanks gentlemen,

I discussed the exhaust brake choice with the mechanics at Statkus Engines in Albuquerque. They do alot of high performance and RV upgrades.

They recommended a BD vacum engaged brake and BD Stainless Steel 4 inch turbo back exhaust. I may prefer this as my firestone compressor buzzes and rattles every time I start the truck, two compressors could be worse!
