What do our engines flow out the exhaust?

injector shims for 12 valve

Since the theme today in the General forum seems to be a little Ford bashing I thought we could post some of the crazy stuff some of our diesel brothers who have been led astray have tried to tell us. Let's just leave the "Ford owns... " outta this thread 'cause we all know that one.

My personal favorite: "Other than all the time this thing has been in the shop, this is the best truck I've ever had. "

I just gave the poor guy a blank stare. I knew he was referring to the handling, ride, and overall comfort of his 4-door SWB F350 with 6. 0l, but still, that's classic.

Recently just switched to Dodge Truck. I would never pay for a Ford diesel.

I still have a Stang though. Would I have purchased a Hemi half ton? No. That being said... . This Ram is awesome!!! I'm learning:)

I like the... . "What kind of chip do you have?" or the "I have injectors and they were only 2200. 00" The best I heard was I have 2 chips, turbo, injectors, and 350 hp at the wheels. I pulled with it once and the transmission blew up..... cause of the power... . ?

One guy here at work has 3 Fords, all of them 7. 3 diesels. He's been suspiciously quiet around me lately, but I caught this the other day:

"I carry an extra cam position sensor, and the tools to change it on the side of the road everywhere I go. "

Not that I'm a Ford lover or anything but... ..... That resembles US in regards to our OEM Lift Pumps. :-laf

I have heard a few since I specialize in them, one of my favorite converstaions was with a guy that was running low 13 sec 1/4's in a 02 cc with an Edge Evolution and he was asking me what injector I sell that would make him faster. I told him none, keep what he has since its such a freak lol!

By the way, 7. 3 with a evo does low 16's on average.

A coworker of mine loves to praise the spool up of his "ball bearing" turbo on his 7. 3. To me it seems to take about twenty minutes for the thing to build about 10psi. I took him for a ride in my truck, the stock HX35 hits 30psi in about three seconds.

Afterwards I made him pay to have the seats cleaned.

I talked to a friend yesterday who has a 05 6. 0 with 17,000 miles. He told me he does not trust the truck to drive to Bangor. Bangor is 170 miles from here. Hes on his second engine and the new engine just got a new turbo truck is stock.

My neighbor at work said once "I shoulda got the v10":-laf That was after his 6. 0 left him stranded in a not so nice part of chicago with his 4 horse trailer.

Guy I know was telling me how his wifes 04 6. 0 has been such a great truck with no problems, as his wife walked by and overheard the conversation and began listing all the problems and times it had been to the dealer.

Uhhh huh... great truck bub.

I've never owned a Ford diesel, but I've got a friend that did. Here's the list of problems he had within the first 6 months:

1. The truck was supposed to have a hood blanket from the factory. It didn't, and the dealer tried to charge him for it.

2. 3 or 4 rear main seals, and something else was dripping when he sold it.

3. It would buck and kick like crazy in reverse. It was almost like it was jumping in and out of gear.

4. The fuel guage didn't work properly. Sometimes it would show that it was empty when it wasn't, other times it would show it was full when it was empty. This caused him to run it out of fuel once or twice before he found out what it was.

5. The dealer told him a flash to the computer would fix the fuel issue and the reverse problem. The flash didn't fix either problem. What it did do though, was remove his "quiet idle'' feature. After it was gone, the dealer said, "Sorry. We can't help you there. "

Pulling 14,000 lbs at 65 MPH and gets 16 MPG. Oh wait, some guys around here say the same thing!!!:-laf :-laf :-laf :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :-{}
