Mufflers, Chambers or wrapped?

Best deals on nitrous?

Hey all,

I'm looking for opinions on what would look best under the hood. Looking at the 1800* paint on the site that follows for longevity purposes, http://clmcenterprises.srv08.yourhost.com/uper_hi.htm

My body color is Lt. Driftwood.

I don't care for the stainless look under the hood so that leaves me with:

Cast Iron Gray

Space Age Bright Aluminum, or

Space Age Black

I'm thinking the Gray or Black would probably look best.

Since I'm expecting the new turbo soon Oo. I figured I'd take the ATS manifold off and get the old Eastwood paint that's rusting through blasted off and try to pretty things up a bit.

I'm thinking of doing the valve cover either same color as the body or whatever is decided on the exh manifold & turbo.

Appreciate your thoughts/suggestions. Pictures to reference would be good if you have any too.

Thanks,

Joe Mc

Paint wont stand up to the temps of the manifold. I dont care what they rate it for.

I'm not saying it will last forever but I used the same 1600° paint on my manifold and after 6months it has yet to crack or peal at all.

But now that I said that it will probably all fall off tomorrow. :-laf

I'm aware what happens to paint, thanks for your comments.

Anyone have suggestions on color based on the initial question in this post?

mattymac,

I hope yours holds up better than mine. I used the same product, silver POR-20, a few years ago on the manifold and housing and rust started to show through all over last summer. I prepped and applied it according to the instructions but its not holding up as well as expected. Looked great for the first year or so, though.

Ive had mine on for a little over two years or so and it looks fine? I also applied it like the instructions say but before I installed it I hit it with a MAPGAS torch to cure it and its been holding up good. I just pulled it off the other night cause I blew a turbo manifold gasket and replaced it, still looks good! I would have said the snow/salt would have done something to yours but I snowmobile alot in the winter and then have to deal with the 100+ degree temps in the summer.
