Hauled a 21' UPS Sprinter Van/Phoinex to Showlow

Going to be in NC April 25th....

Just got the MIO C310x GPS from Frys too for $198. Price included free shipping. They are supposed to have a free map upgrade available on April 15 according to my brother-in-law (He called them today).

Looks like a nice unit for the price. Does it automatically re-route you if you miss a turn or encounter a detour?

yes, I make it autoroute a lot because it does not always route the way I want it to. Its really an awsome unit for the price. I picked it up at the store after trying every other unit that was demo'd, most costing three times as much. For the most part, this unit was the most intuitive and the most user friendly with the most features and the best looking map IMO. I have several much more expensive Garmins that cant do what this unit does at the user interface level, but they do have other useful features this one doe not have mostly to do with computer integration of thirdparty applications.

I am also starting to look around for a GPS device. The 2200 has me interested to serve in vehicle and hiking. I am very curious about the monthly pay services? Are they worth it? required to keep device accurate? Which make/models include road updates with the purchase price? If there are monthly fees anyone is paying for this type of service what is the cost? I am curious if the more expensive units do not need any of the monthly fees or if that type of fee applies to all units.

Thanks, Jeff

Another inexpensive unit to look at is from Michelin I got one from tiger direct for christmas for $160. 00. it has rechargeable lithium battery, voice guidance and reroutes, if traffic or detour warants it.
