I installed new ISSPRO Gauges in my truck. I am having problems

with my pryo gauge. After a couple days needle started to bounce,

and then died. I replaced amplifier box worked perfect. after a week

started doing same. I checked wiring all is good. I was wondering if

anyone had this problem ?

Most pyrometers work on the principle that the sending unit in the exhaust stream sends a small voltage to the gauge when it see's heat... . wheatstone bridge I believe is the name of the technology... this is a very small amount of voltage... usually can't be measured with a common needle volt meter... quick connectors and soldered joint drive these meters nuts... . they need bolted, clean connections and the vendor of these units usually supply a sender with connections that are bolted to the leads to the meter... .

Any loose connections in this circuit will cause either no meter movement or a connection that comes and goes will cause meters to bounce... . If you replaced the factory supplied connections with others its my guess this is your problem, and if you've left them loose or where they can get dirt in them, they need to be checked... .

When we install them... . we bolt the connection together and than install a heat shrink tube on the connection that has a heat melt adhesive in the tube... this melts with the heat and seals the connection water tight... .

Hope this helps... .

Good info!

Also check your 12 Volt source. the ISSOPROs are fickle about having a 12 Volt source that inputs into the amp box. Had all sorts of problems with install on my Powerstroke with the ISSOPROs. Found I didn't have a good 12 Volt source, and without it I got all sorts of funny readings, then just died.
