03 HO surging/shuddering???

Not sure how top describe it, no check engine light, digital boost gage on attitude would bounce all over- crazy readings too- not always in concert with the perceived stuttering. was too on/off to be a fuel filter issue. Edge checking out the Attitude/Juice but wondering if it could be a bad map sensor or something else... ... ideas? Very noticeable in mid upper settings- hard to detect in low settings or removed, but subtle, towing 10kish.
