Where to buy a Smarty in Canada?

stacking ez and quadzilla 120hp box

Got it today. :D

Installed on level 3 (60hp + timing): nice power increase, low end response, turbo spool. Not great, but nice, certainly better than stock.

Bumped up to level 5 (90hp + timing): now this is the way I prefer it, very good power increase, low end response, and interstate acceleration awesome. This level is more me after having my 03 with the Banks, then TST. Level 3 was like dating an average girl, Level 5 like moving up to J-Lo:-laf -and of course stock is ugly:eek: .

Not worried about stock transmission, cause I can control that. Just cause you use a higher tune doesn't mean the transmission explodes, that is all your right foot. On level 5 the truck is very docile if you want it to be.

What is amazing, is the fact that it takes a few minutes and you just increased your horse-p by almost 30% and even more torque. That would cost you $5000 with a gas motor.

No glitches at all, good instructions, very easy. Kudos to Madd Electronics and Marco.

Good stuff, I'm still on 3 and will probably stay there until I get a full billet transmission. I agree with you though, take the tq management out of the truck and put it between your ears:D

What brand remote start are you running?

I believe it is an Audiovox, the dealer installed it when I got the truck in December.

As far as transmission life, well, if I get sucked into heavy footing it, then I agree, otherwise won't be a big deal. I have been thinking hard about a TC and VB install. Never really have cared for stock Chrysler trannys.

I was curious because the D/C unit does not work correctly on the 07 and has a stop sale order on it.

Driving it easy is a hard thing to do when it's there:-laf :-laf . The smarty comes on so quick.

Just keep in mind also that the Stock 48-RE does not raise line pressure until the throttle is past a certain point in its travel, so even though you are taking it easy on the transmission (and as Bob4x4 mentioned - have the stress of the bigger tires), you may be causing slow "hurt" to it by more slipping due to the lower line pressures at light throttle.

I was told by a DTT transmission guy that the 48-RE does fairly well at holding +100 hp over stock, but the secret was that when the +100 hp was there, to USE the transmission (i. e. get on it fairly hard) so the line pressures would raise and it would have better holding power to handle the increased hp. He said when you were just tooling around light throttle, turn the power down to help the transmission live a long life.

I am not claiming this is gospel, but it is what I heard from him... Anyone like Bob4x4 or sag2 can comment since they work on and with these things day in and day out...

Good Luck with the SMARTY - They seem to be an AWESOME add-on, esp. for the 3rd Gen trucks!

Laramie,

I was thinking about you on level 5 this morning while I was driving into work on level 3. What kept coming to mind was how much of a tramp you are to have dated three girlfriends in one day :)

Tramp, eh... ... ... ... well, better than some other things I've been called:D , it's a dirty job.

DG... .....

Thanks for the comments on line pressure and the 48RE, I'm not a transmission expert, so I wouldn't know. I am enjoying the truck and smarty, just got the tires and wheels mounted, the lift will be in a couple weeks. I'll keep my ears open for problems, but will leave it on level 5 for now. I am planning on a TC and VB so if something does happen, I will do it that much quicker. I have only gotten on it once, matter of fact it was today when I was behind a *?!*# Chevy pickup on his cell phone turning with no blinker, got ****** and goosed it around, him, holy cow did it come on strong, like a bullet, almost hit the guy, course that would only make a Chevy look better to get a little Dodge on it:-laf

You guys will love the Smarty, hey Bob, have you downloaded the ABS updates yet, I have to program the tire size.

Have you tried the 0 setting yet? I'm curious as to the mileage gain. That would seem to be the thing for tooling around town, then bump it for towing or weekend fun.

1/2 power is not suggested for unmodded trucks. To see potential fuel economy increase the 30 or 60 hp with timing softwares are suggested.

1/2 power is like a valet switch for heavily fueled trucks

Naw, probably never will, couldn't do without the power. I'm at 8000 miles and my mileage basically sucks for a diesel, but expected with 35 inch tires, 4. 10 gears, auto, dually, 5 minute drive to work, etc. If I worried about mileage I would have gotten a rabbit I suppose. I'm probably getting about 13 at best, a hair better than my HEMI.

When it gets warm this spring and I am up at 10K I'll see what I get. The computer is never correct.
