Yesterday a friend and I went out there to see what it was like. WE HAD A BLAST but were only out there for an hour or two.

I had to cut it short when I put bend in the exhaust right in front of the muffler. This bend pulled the muffler off the hangers and back to the tail pipe. I had to tie up the tailpipe with electrical wire to get her home last night.

I'm new to the area, where is a good muffler shop that has 4" pipe?

How does one meet the Glamis/Rattlin/Rams?

I'm not part of the rattlin rams and have not met any yet but I'm sure I will when I get to Glamis.

If your in the San Diego area I was planning on leaving friday afternoon.

Post up some pics. Now you are an experienced duner,so no lagging when we are all out there . Did you go out to olds? Make some high speed passes down the sand highway?

I have never been to glamis before and I have no idea on how to drive in sand. (I didn't air down either) I never made it out of site of the paved road for the campgrounds. The longest trek I did through the sand the engine temp was halfway past the 210 mark heading for the red so I got it back on the road to let her cool off.

Today I got out of class and the muffler and tailpipe were no longer connected so I went to the hobby shop and cut off the muffler. The exhaust now ends just past the cat.

Also I could never get the speed above ~15 even with the rpms at about 2500. I know I was killing my transmission fluid doing that but I just couldn't get any speed, thats another reason why I didn't stay out to long.

There is a flash to improve fan strategy for the 05,I did mine it helped keep it below the 212 I always saw at Glamis and slow going on the highway.

Poblo does'nt even have a 4x4, and anyway he rather stay home and make money on side jobs, not spending money and breaking stuff on his Rig

It seems that some don't know that The SoCalRattlinRams are the southern cali TDR chapter. This past year we haven't had a lot of scheduled events due to time constraints on senior members. We have been going off roading on a semi regular basis. All tdr members are welcome to tag along and enjoy putting them through their paces. The only special equiptment required is a flag mounted at least 8ft high. There are vendors on site selling the inexpensiveversions for about 10 bucks. Floatation tires are a must if you expect to climb the big hills,315's are the standard with our kind of weight but with enough power a little less will still work. We will be camping in a big circle ala wagon train style. The nightly fire circle is enjoyed by all,plenty to brag about at the end of a day in the dunes,The best stuck,the quickest up the hill,the closest call. We always have the big 3 suspension companies represented and usually the also rans too.

If you are new to the sand we have plenty of experience to share and have been known to pull out the recovery equiptment a time or two.

Get off the couch,come out and play.

Bob has tought me how to drive in the sand, so I feal alot more comfortable now when I go out with them. And dont worry about getting stuck we have alot of experianced offroaders that know what to do.
