Norm, what would you suggest I bring, if dcoffman is bringing potato salad and buns. I could bring condiments like mayo, ketchup and mustard, and try to get some tomatoes & lettuce. How does that sound? Anyone bringing deserts?

Where's tugboat phil??? I haven't heard from him in a while... all OK in the land of tie dye? ( just kidding );)

For all of you who didn't attend Shame On You. tee hee:eek: :D

Hey Norm,

Glad your truck is warming up now and you have heat. You didn't mention the food it was good also . Maybe not quite as good as the bikini grils but it was good. GToby sure informed me alot ,I learned more than I thought I could. By the way you're on the head about the Home Place,I ate way to much.

Yes the cook done real good with that special spatula. :D

Norm, thanks so much for keeping up with this group, and for making us get together, no matter how many can come. I know that we all could not make it every time because there's always something that will come up. Just look at me and my "dern" broke foot! I think my leg cart needs a 4" chrome stack up the back. What do you think?

dcoffman, please tell your wife the potato salad was wonderful. I like the ones that do not have a lot of mustard, and her's was just perfect! You can bring that anytime!

And Norm, your wife's brownies were out of this world! As we all said, we could've eaten potato salad and brownies and been just fine!

Thanks to James and all of those @ Affordable Truck for letting us descend on them, and nice touch having the dancing girls in bikinis! What a way to warm us up on a snowy day! I bet Norm didn't need any heat in his truck on the way back!

What do you think fester?

The chrome stack should be in front. Otherwise, it could end up where the sun don't shine, and that might hurt more than the gimpy foot. :D LOL, I kill me! (Well, at least *someone* should... . )

Tater salad was great, though I'd be just as happy with a touch more pepper in it.

We repaired. We BOMBed. We lifted heavy objects and told lies, like the good men we be. They was scantily clad dancin' girls there? I hadn't noticed. But maybe them nekked girls gittin' it on in the paint booth distracted me... . As all het up Norm was, I'll bet he drove home with the winders down.

Snow? That was snow? Where I come from, it ain't even a light flurry less'n it leaves 12 inch behind. I thought it was just pollen blowin'. That's why I chopped all that fur off my head soon's I got home: I thought spring had sprung. 30F is mighty cold without all that insulation, sudden-like.

Next time, we have to hang out at Mikey's shop in Galax. ... Y'know, Rockingham's only 200 miles down US220. A diesel drag race (4/14) is a good excuse to get together. I'll be there anyway. After, we can post friendly wagers as to who'll be the class champeens in October. Y'all can save fuel and ride in Tobey's tour bus; jes' rent them scantily-clad SYTs to serve beer and snacks on the way... .

5hp engine

G Tobey! I have a 5 hp lawn mower engine if you want to install it on your leg cart. Just have to hold on and go fast. Oo. :-laf

That sounds really cool! I'm trying to figure out something to steer with other than by doing wheelies! I may have to rob a go-cart somewhere...

Does this sound like we're reinventing the Rascal scooter???

Mount a caster wheel on a hydraulic piston that's connected to a hand lever.

When you squeeze the lever, the caster wheel is lowered and raises the non-steering wheels off the ground so you can steer. Release the lever, and you go straight again.

Or you could convince your insurance to rent you a Segway for a few months. :)

What's everyone doing now just sitting around the fire?

Kind of a short summer huh. :{ :)

You know how the weather goes around here: winter, spring, winter, summer, winter, summer, winter, summer, spring, summer, spring, summer, fall, summer, winter, fall, spring, winter... . And to think those poor handicapped Minnesota folks only have two seasons: winter and the Fourth of July. And the desert southwest folks only have Hades and January 12th. The great PNW? April showers year round. They all know what to expect and when to expect it. Here, we have to check the weather conditions every day. And sometimes several times a day. And all too often, after we've checked and dressed appropriately, the weather has changed by the time we get outside. This is the main reason why businesses have a hard time succeeding around here; most employees find it's easier to stay home than it is to bring spring, summer, fall and winter changes of clothes to work every day. People think we Blue Ridge types are wusses when we go up north and wear a parka when it's 40F. We're not really that cold; we just expect the weather to change rapidly and unexpectedly, and we like to be ready for it - take the parka off or zip it up, as needed.

I think I'm starting to sound like Garrison Keillor. Maybe we need to start a new thread: "Blue Ridge Cabin Buddy".

:)
