2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 9004 headlight bulbs/Summit wireing harness

I've ordered Summits AMC 509104 headlight harness . It comes with 9004 bulbs. Are these an improvement over stock bulbs? And are they ok for the 02? Summit sales didn't seem to know.

I don't know if it works with 02 but I bought it for my 97 and haven't installed it yet. It should make the lights brighter because it runs 12volts directly from the battery and thru supplied relays directly to the headlight bypassing the headlight switch.



Now the current that was going to the headlight switch and then to the headlights is eliminated. The headlight switch is now just the control signal that triggers the relays also eliminating the current load on the headlight switch. By removing the load on the switch it prevents the common problem of the headlight switch burning up and failing and melting everything.

Hobart, Same bulbs but harness makes the lights brighter because they now are directly hooked to the battieries with relays activated thru headlight switch. It's a easy upgrade though I have not read that your year headlight switch was overheating like early 2nd gen's were.

I installed the harness from suv lights(black) a couple weeks back. it looked higher quality than the last one I got from summit(yellow). Is the harness from Summit still yellow.
