Got my HeberRam shift know (in black) today and installed it. Oo. It makes one sweet looking addition to the cab. It was everything that HeberRam advertised and more. :D It makes for a super grip and a nice feel when you're shifting. I bet he can't make them fast enough. If I can get ahold of a digital camera tomorrow, I'll post a picture.

Robert that's an easy decision buy one of each, that way you have two of the best and you can change for the occasion:-laf

Was the Install difficult????? How long did it take and what tools would you need?

I just installed mine too. Very easy install to do, and it takes less than 10 minutes.

Need a small screwdriver to pry center cap out of stock shift knob, a 15 mm socket for the locking nut, and a little blue loctite to put the new one on. That's about it! --Eric

How did it work with the thread locker? Does it come loose? I installed mine with the nut and don't like the way it feels. HeberRam is sending me a small jam nut to try out.

well i finally pulled the trigger and just went with my gut instinct and bought the black one. now starts the waiting game. Oo. is it here yet?;)

just order one of each color for the different seasons. :-laf :-laf

You can always sell them to your customers.

If you don't like the stock jam nut, you can use blue lock thight, or another method, is to put in an 1/8' piece of hot glue stick, then put in the insert, crank it down to where you want it and it will stay!!!Oo. Oo. Oo.

I tried replying by the e-mail on this site, but it said you didn't exist. Don't ask me why, but here's your answer.

It was pretty easy. Pry the shift pattern cap off of the shifter knob, ratchet out the keeper nut inside (15MM), unscrew the old shift knob. The instructions that come with the HeberRam knob give two ways to install the new one. The first way is to thread on the old keeper nut and run it to the bottom of the threads on the shaft. Then thread on the new shift knob until it bottoms out. Unscrew the know a couple of turns to position the logo where you want it, and run up the old locker nut to lock the shift knob in place. The second way is to use some non-permanent thread locker, run the new shift knob to the bottom and back it off until the logo is where you want it. Then let it set. That's what I did.

The medium strength Loctite wasn't strong enough for me. I guess I have a strong grip. Fortunately, mine happens to bottom out right in a position where the logo is perfectly positioned.

If it didn't, I might try using some small washers as shims in the bottom of the shift ball to get it to bottom out in the right position.
