New Super Silent Fass Pumps!!!!!!!!!!

I got a Fass 150 (serial number 6100 something) last year. It's pretty noisy and I'd like to send it in for the noise update. I've got a couple of questions, about the update and the Fass in general. How long is the turn around for the update? This truck is my daily driver and I can't go without for long. If I read your post correctly I just take the 4 up/down bolts off the pump assembly and send the whole assembly in? Now I have a question about the Fass. When I hit a good bump the pressure drops then comes back up. I can't get it to drop by accelerating, just a good bump. Is this normal?

You put that RMA 2007-10,000 on it and ill get it in and out in the same day. Do an est of shipping on UPS for area code 63357.

I have the the 03-04. 5 hpfp 150 gph, I was just in the process of trying to figure out what I can do to quiet this thing down its been driving me nuts. I guess I'll have to take a look at it this weekend and take it off so I can get the up-date thank god.

My fass was noisy as heck and sometimes sounded like a blender that you were dropping clumps of dough into. At 22k miles and 840miles from home it did me a favor and quit working. Installed a mechanical and haven't worried about it or had to listen to it since.

well doesn't that just suck. throw it on ebay. Thats where everyone else gets rid of their junk. its like getting paid to get rid of your trash.

Man, I had heard that the FASS was loud, but that video gave me a whole new insight. Since I'm still undecided I have to say I wouldn't even consider the FASS unless it's the new quiet model. That said, I'm kind of leaning toward the RASP. I would assume this pump can't even be heard over the motor. What is the main reason more of you FASS users chose that over the RASP? I've heard the latter is more expensive, but I haven't priced it out... but as much as so many of you are spending on mods, it seems worth it for reliability and quietness sake, eh?

Well we have some very exciting news about what we have been working on the past few months. We have had a breakthrough with our R&D. We have found a way to lower pump noise up to 11 decibels from our testing. Our fuel pumps are consistently much quieter. For Example: Brads truck. He has a 2006 Dodge 3500. With the engine off and the windows down sitting in the cab, you can not hear the FASS running. So you can imagine with the engine running, the pump can't be heard at all.



Granted, most of the pumps we released were quiet. We have seen some of you wish that your pumps were a bit quieter. We have listened and now have a program to reduce the noise. Here are the details:



For those with a seal on your pump (Lead seal and wire between the two horizontal motor bolts on the HPFP base or T-Block assembly of the FASS System. We have record of what pumps have seals and what pumps do not. ), you will need to send in your upper half of your pump for the update if it is a FASS. The unit does not need to be removed from the truck to remove the T-Block portion. HPFP's can be sent in as is. We do not want seals to be broken by anyone outside of our shop. If this happens, warranty will be void on that unit. We understand that this is an inconvenience (This is one of the reasons why we adjusted our warranty policy that is discussed later in this post) and this update will not cost anything but the initial shipping to send it to us. We will do what is necessary to make sure your pump is quieter when it is returned. We will run full tests to ensure a healthy pump. What we will need to accompany the pump is the following information:



-Serial Number of pump

-Name

-Correct Return Address (No P. O. Boxes)

-Put Number 2007-10,000 on outside of box



Please send in the full HPFP, with no fittings and mounting brackets installed.

We only need the upper half of the FASS system to be sent in.

This is the portion directly above the water separator that bolts to the filter base. It's held on by 4 vertical (Up and Down) bolts, not the 4 horizontal (Left to Right) bolts with the seal! Removed this portion and send in to us for the update.



For those without the seals on the pump, we give you two options. You can send in your pump like above or purchase an update kit for $15. 00. This includes everything needed to update the pump in about 30-45 minutes. The order will be processed and an update kit will be drop shipped directly to you. Very simple. Instructions will have more details about tools needed and what's involved. What you will need to do is send in a $15. 00 Check or money order to:

Lastly, we are so confident in the changes we have made to improve the FASS/HPFP in the past year that we have decided to increase the warranty from 4 years to 6 years!! But this is not for just the new units being released or units being updated. This will be back dated to pump sold to July 2005. The serial number brakes are as follows:

150 Series FASS Systems: - Serial Numbers Back to 5,000

HPFP Models: - Serial Numbers Back to 1,000

Well I Did The Upgrade And I Went Threw Scott At Massdiesel And When I Got It Back It Was Still Loud , We Got Ahold Of Dan And He Said What The Problem Was And Within A Week It Was Fixed , So Hats Off To Scott At Mass Diesel And Diesel Dan , First Class Product And First Class Guys, I Would Recomend A Fass Pump To Anyone. They Stand Behind There Products And There Words. Oo.

It Was Quiet When The Key Was On But Had A Screaming Pitch To It When You Drove Down The Road , I Called Scott At Mass Diesel And Between Him And Diesel Dan , They Said It Might Be A Spring Not Seating Or Something Like That, They Said To Let It Go For A Couple Of Weeks And If It Doesn T Go Away They Would Send Another Pump Out, Well It Went Away And Everything Is Fine And The Pump Is 50% Quieter Than The Old One,

It doesn't have the filters so it is a HPFP Correct? i bought it from Bakers diesel in ogden in Aug of 06 the serial number is 3715, i am very satified with it, but I can hear it from the cab with the windows up and the enigne running. it would be great if it was quieter but i wanted to make sure it qualified before i took it off and wasted your time messing around with it thanks again for a great product and great customer service

You do not have the update... your pump was made 6-29-06 and bought on 8-28-06. AND you have the FULL 6 year wnty by the way.

Mine has the high pitched noise too, squeeling sound very annoying. Trying to figure it out because it comes and goes at will.

PB, ill offer the same deal to you as i did for SELLUFISHMAN. As we try to cull all thoes springs and balls that make the noise, we have to go on what we see on our test stand. If it doesnt make noise for 10-15 Mins of running, we let it go. It should stop after a while... but if it doesnt, get in touch with you FASS dealer and have them call me and we will work something out.
