Was 4 wheel ABS optional or standard on the 3500 4x4? I know it was optional on the 2500 4x4's.

Can anyone tell me what the 2500 4x4 HD and non-HD front axle rating ratings were?

The MY2000 advertising slick shows them standard on 3500's, included with SLT+ package on 2500's and optional with other 2500's.

The MY2001 advertising slick shows them standard on 3500's and 2500's.

The same brochures show the 4x4 front axle on all 2500's & 3500's at 4850 pounds.

I have no knowledge of the accuracy of D/C advertising slick brochures.

Thank you , Thomas, that's what I was after.

Next question (I should have asked this on the first post): Which year started to include the child seat attachment in the quad cabs? Does anyone have a pic of how they are attached (the back seat would need to be out)? I'd like to upgrade my extended cab.

My 01 quad has the upper teather straps at the top of the rear seat. There are three of them. It DOES NOT have the lower "Latch system" attachments that use the strap that comes with the child seat. Hope this helps, atleast alittle. BTW I have no idea how/where they attched to the frame.

J-

The way that the latch system is attached on the upper one is that they have a nut welded in the of the cad after you remove the seat and then they are bolted on to that. I am not sure on the lower part, I have never seen them before. Hope this helps, Andrew.

My model year 2000, 2500 truck (see sig - the quad cab), in the Laramie SLT configuration, code 2HG, did not come with any attachment hardware for a child seat.

I ordered, and paid extra for, the 4-wheel ABS. The truck came standard with 2-wheel ABS.

The front axle rating from the sticker on the front edge of the left-rear door is:

GAWR (front): 5200 lb. /2359 kg.

with LT245/75R-E on 16x7. 5 rims & 65 psi/448 kpa

I hope this helps.

Dave,

I've been busy. I am retiring in a few weeks and everything is coming around all at once. I haven't had time to get on-line much for the last several months. (You apparently noticed. )

Knowing me, I suspect that I will have even less free time after I retire.

I am working on catching up with the TDR web site. I always learn a lot here.

Loren

Congrats on retirement, Loren. Actually, I haven't noticed your absence. I'm sporatic myself these days, so I don't know who's around and who isn't. You're probably right, though. I suspect you won't be sitting around too many days wondering what to do with yourself. :)
