I would like my megacab back doors to slide instead of opening like elephant ears :-laf

Has anybody done that, does a conversion kit exist?

Any info welcomed! Thanks, Dan

That would be cool, but where would it slide too? On a minivan the cab is long enough in the back to allow the door someplace to go, not sure how it would work on a truck cab... . Now, reverse opening Lambo doors could be cool. Front one open like a normal Lambo door and the rear the opposite. That would be sweet.

How about instead of sliding back on rails, which would be tough with the bed/cab mating, have some different hinges where the door unlatches, pops off the cab 6" or so, then hinges back...

It's tough to explain...

Actually, just imagine the door LOOKING like the action a sliding door on a minivan uses, but use multi-point hinges to do it, instead of rollers and rails...

It would probably take up a lot of inner door panel space though.

It might take an extra parking space on each side to get get passengers out of the back. :-laf

Was that the reason for the original question?

The back doors are too wide when in parking lots. I freak everytime my kids get out of the truck. I was thinking of sliding ones, like a minivan, attached to the bed cap.

I agree Lambo style (EVO doors) is cool, but not very efficient in underground parking lots.

Dodge did a prototype (the Rampage) with such doors.

Dan

Ps maybe I should move out the city :)))

I guess lambo doors would work around my house, because I do not fit in any parking garages that I have been to yet. I would also need the mega cab to go with the lambo doors. I think you could get the mini van type door to work. Just think it out before you work on the truck.

It's me, again...

I'm bringing this back to life again, to see if anybody has come up with something (?).

Thanks, - Dan
