Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) FASS upgrade?

Bought and installed my FASS in March of 04 and last week I lost all fuel pressure. Got out to listen and no pump running. Called Rip and he said they were offering an upgrade. I'm not to happy with this product that was suppose to last 500,000 miles or more and relieve me of any fuel pressure worries. Thank god I had a pressure gauge. The brushes in the motor were hanging up which could be fixed if the caps covering the brushes had not broken down to a powderlike substance. I have no gripe with Rip as he was great about dealing with DPP and I had the replacement in 3 days. I could have stayed with the stock pump at a fraction of the cost and still carried a spare. Live and learn. DW

You did leave out the part about renewing a 4 year wnty on that RP that you got. I show, now, you have 4 year on this new pump as i have your full info registered. I don’t believe you had this wnty info on file before, or this would have been handled a bit differently.

How much for the upgrade? I have an original pump too, and I've hadto do the crawl under,tap with a hammer thing more than a few times.



I will take all blame though, because even though i fell for the same 500K mile hype, I failed to send in my warranty card.

The wnty was the buffer to catch any units that had issues. As we would love to have something where everything we released from day one was perfect, we would be lying to you if we said that we had zero issues.

No problem, I know how it goes. I've been 90% pleased with this pump, and I am sure the upgrade will be great, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
